_Annual ‘Bada Khana 2026’ recognises security workforce for driving disciplined execution_
त्रिनेत्र टाइम्स कोरबा ***//** *Balconagar, 04th May 2026:* Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, a unit of Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited, recorded zero safety incidents and zero theft incidents for the second consecutive year in FY’26, marking a significant milestone in its security performance. To recognise the contributions behind these outcomes, the company organised the third edition of its annual ‘Bada Khana 2026’ initiative, acknowledging the commitment and resilience of its security workforce.
During FY ’26, BALCO achieved nearly a 15% reduction in overall incidents, alongside successful recoveries without any disruption to operations. These outcomes were driven by a structured security framework integrating technology-enabled surveillance, analytics-led monitoring and disciplined execution across plant operations and township areas. As part of this approach, the company monitored over 55 lakh employee and business partner footfall movements and more than 1.25 lakh vehicle transactions through enhanced surveillance systems and GPS-enabled tracking, while real-time intelligence inputs from over 1,500 Security Mitras helped pre-empt nearly 37% of potential incidents, reinforcing the effectiveness of its community-linked vigilance model.
To honour these collective efforts and reinforce the role of security as a strategic enabler, BALCO brought together over 450 employees, business partners and senior leadership at ‘Bada Khana 2026’. The initiative served as an annual platform to recognise operational discipline, accountability and proactive risk management across the security function.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Kumar Singh, CEO, BALCO, said, “At BALCO, our commitment to zero harm and excellence guides every decision and action. Through the integration of technology, strengthened processes, and a culture of shared responsibility, we continue to deliver consistent outcomes across safety and security. As we move forward, we will focus on advancing our systems and enhancing predictive capabilities to build a safer, more resilient, and future-ready workplace.”
The event also featured cultural performances, including dance and music presentations, along with a fire safety awareness skit by the Central Security Operations Centre (CSOC) team. A reward and recognition segment honoured individuals and teams for their role in incident prevention, crisis response and operational discipline.
In parallel, BALCO has strengthened road safety enforcement through automated monitoring and robust compliance mechanisms. Fire and rescue teams have conducted district-level mock drills in coordination with the local administration, while building emergency preparedness capacity among over 5,500 individuals through training in fire safety practices, CPR and emergency response techniques.
BALCO’s Security function integrates advanced technology and inclusive practices to strengthen surveillance, response, and compliance. It features an all-women CSOC with 11 transgender representation, 1600+ AI-enabled cameras, GPS-enabled logistics monitoring, QR-based patrolling, and a dedicated QRT. The system is further supported by trained canine units of 14, 100% biometric access control, and integrated communication tools for effective coordination.
As the organisation moves forward, it remains focused on strengthening security infrastructure, expanding technology integration and embedding proactive safety practices to support a resilient and future-ready operational ecosystem
