\u00a0\u0924\u094d\u0930\u093f\u0928\u0947\u0924\u094d\u0930 \u091f\u093e\u0907\u092e\u094d\u0938 \u0915\u094b\u0930\u092c\u093e\u00a0 Balconagar,****\/<\/span> 16th March 2025<\/strong> \u2013 Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), a flagship entity under Vedanta Aluminium and one of India\u2019s leading aluminium producers, has taken a landmark step towards strengthening workplace inclusivity by launching an education assistance policy exclusively for transgender employees<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Under this progressive initiative, transgender employees with a minimum of 18 months of continuous service<\/strong> will be eligible for financial support of up to INR 1 lakh<\/strong> to pursue professional education. This initiative is aimed at bridging the education and opportunity gap<\/strong> while empowering transgender individuals to achieve their professional aspirations.<\/p>\n

Paving the Way for a More Inclusive Workplace<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The new policy is a part of BALCO\u2019s broader Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) charter<\/strong>, which focuses on creating a supportive and respectful environment for all employees, irrespective of their gender identity. This includes:<\/p>\n

  • Gender Reaffirmation Policy<\/strong> with provisions for paid leave and financial support for gender reassignment surgeries.<\/li>\n
  • Dedicated housing assistance<\/strong> for transgender employees to ensure dignified living conditions.<\/li>\n
  • Regular sensitization workshops<\/strong> and community engagement activities<\/strong> to build awareness and acceptance across the organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
